Each chainsaw is made to order. Production starts when cleared payment for your order has been recieved and takes 4 weeks. Shipping time is in addition to this and will vary on your location, somewhere from one or two days for Europe, two to four for the USA & Canada, and upto seven for far flung corners like Australia & New Zealand. If you don't have as much time as this, contact me and I'll do my best to help you out.

I ship chainsaws worldwide, although you may wish to check with your country's customs before ordering just to make sure you won't run into any problems. Many countries charge import duty and taxes on imported items, and I have no control over this. You can see sample delivery prices below, which may look expensive, but this would be a fully tracked & signed for courier service (Usually FedEx or TNT) with delivery usually within a few days depending on the destination.
Australia-£200.00Canada-£210.00Germany-£100.00Ireland-£100.00Italy-£130.00Mexico (Mexico City)-£345.00UK-£30.00USA-£190.00
(All prices are in UK pounds Sterling)
Why so expensive? Two reasons; it's a proper courier delivery, and the packing crate is large and heavy, giving the chainsaw as much protection as possible during shipping. The cost of that sturdy 3/4" plywood wooden crate included in the above price. Also included above is an optional (but strongly recommended) £25 enhanced insurance charge which would cover the full purchase price of the item in the unlikely event of damage or loss in transit. I've never had a chainsaw go missing in transit, but if you opt not to pay this, then I am somewhat limited in what I can do should your order not arrive as the standard non-enhanced insurance offered by most couriers is literally negligable.If you're an account holder with a company such as DHL, UPS or FedEx and can get a better price, you can arrange collection from me. The wooden crate for one chainsaw in imperial would be (16" x 14.5" x 35") at 37.5lb in weight, or in metric (41cm x 37cm x 89cm) at 17kg, and the collection location would be Middlesex, England UK.

Yes, please let me know when placing your order. I can customise the wooden base to give a number of effects such as cabin floorboards (shown below), a tabletop (shown below), or other ideas such as a cellar dirt floor, sand, leaves, etc.. You're also welcome to request your own ideas. Little details can also be added, such as general dust/dirt debris, rusty chains, loose nails, bloody hand or footprints, broken sheet glass/bottles/crockery, spent shotgun cartridges, or even larger items like a screen-accurate old oil lamp, a bloody meat cleaver, or Ash's severed hand! Basically, if you can both imagine it and have the money, and I can find or make it, then the sky's the limit. While the standard sized displays I make are perfectly sized for either a chainsaw or mechanical hand, they can be made larger if you have one or more of your own Evil Dead props you want to display alongside it, such as a 'Kandarian Dagger' or 'Book Of The Dead'. See the display case gallery section for more photos.
They start at £400 for a plain case with a wooden base, but if you have a particularly expensive or difficult customization request or other items/props you want me to find and add in there, that may be higher. Please contact me with your ideas for a quote. Cases usually add around one week to the normal four week manufacturing lead time.

That would be your personal preference, the guide bar used in both films was 20", if you let your hand hang down by your side normally & have someone measure the distance from the tip of your middle finger to the floor, then subtract 5"/13cm that would give you your maximum recommended guide bar length. (any longer and it would be touching the ground). Guide bars I use for all three saws are available in 16", 18", 20" & 24" lengths.

I have traded various props & replicas for chainsaws, either for a reduction in the price, or as a straight trade. if you have something you want to trade then please email me. As you may expect, I'd be particularly interested in any 'Evil Dead' trilogy related items.
On the other hand, I do get asked to give out free chainsaws in exchange for advertising (of one form or another) from time to time, which I now never do. I've found from my own past experience that this never tends to work out and just leads to bad feeling.

Yes, you can wear them on either hand although it's more of a squeeze on the left than on the right as your thumb is on the opposite side. 'Ash' wears the chainsaw on his right hand. Most people who've tried it, left or right handed, naturally tend to wear it on their right hand.

There are reasons why I can't or don't produce replicas of any of those items;
Firstly the the 'Necronomicon' or 'Book Of The Dead' is a copyrighted idea. It's copyright is held my it's creator; Tom Sullivan. He has taken legal action against a number of people making & selling replica books in the past, and he'd almost certainly do the same to me, unless the books I made were different enough from the original that they didn't breach his copyright, and if they were that different, there would be no point in selling them.
The clothing outfits are rather simple for each person to source locally in their own country, just a blue shirt, work pants and hiking boots. Given the many different sizes of shirts, pants and shoes I would need to sell to suit everyone, that would just be a cumbersome hassle.
The shotgun/boomstick is equally fraught, not least because if I did sell them, there is always the likelihood that someone walking in-costume in the streets with one of my guns, could result in them being shot dead by armed police. That's a headache I really don't need. Quite apart from that, I ship all over the world and the sale of even replica guns is banned outright or tightly regulated in many countries, not least the UK where I live. It's just really not worth doing considering the prospect of being raided by UK customs officers for shipping something to a country I shouldn't have. If people can get access to real and/or fake guns in their country, then they should be able to find a decent match to the boomstick. If they can't legally get access to either real or fake firearms, then it would be highly ill advised for me to be selling replicas I'd made to them. If every person who wants to dress as Ash sources a real/replica firearm themselves, then what they do with their gun (and any situations that might arise from having/using it) up to them and is then nothing whatsoever to do with me.
If you want more information on any item, you can look through a guide to many the props featured in the trilogy on BookOfTheDead.ws's Evil Dead Trilogy Props Reference Guide

I only sell my chainsaws through this website, and to the best of my knowledge none of my chainsaws have come up for auction on 'Ebay' second hand either. If you see one on there chances are it was made by someone else, other people do sell their own versions there from time to time. If I decide to take EvilDeadChainsaws.com full time I may start touring the sci-fi/horror convention circuit in the UK & USA, and selling in specialist genre stores & other specific websites, But at the moment EvilDeadChainsaws.com is the only place you can buy my chainsaws.

I don't offer instructions or step-by-step guide on how you'd make your own replica chainsaw from scratch, as every person reading this will have access to different tools, and a different level of skill and knowledge. If you're really stuck on one point I'll give you some advice, but for the most part it's for you to work out as best you can, using the skills & tools you have available. That's the whole point of making your own chainsaw replica. Even if I was to give a detailed guide on how I make my chainsaws, unless the reader had the access to the same tools, machinery, skills & knowledge that I do, then that would be of limited use.
