Could be the same guy as before then. I never knew his name as most people referred to him as "al".
Al = Alex maybe.

Okie doke, well I'm assuming most people will transfer back to there, but I'll leave this up just in case something happens, or people want to reply to existing threads.

Yeah definitely keep this place up. It's the first hit in google for "gamesmaster forum". It also has all the download links.

Plus, who can be sure that he won't just piss off like he did last time, there where a few of us who where willing to help out or take over, I doubt i'll use the old website other than just to secure my username.

Exactly. A lot of posts/information was lost when he took it down without any warning what so ever. That forum had people like Rik Henderson registered which gave the website/forum more credibility but that's all been lost unfortunately. I personally offered donations to help keep the site up and many others offered to take it over.
This forum is more active than that one and will continue to be as this is the first hit in google for "gamesmaster forum".

I feel the same to be honest, on one hand i'm pleased to see the site re-open but on another feel pissed off that it's back with no explanation to why it was just deleted...
I was a member on there from 2006 and had good memories, but no I have to start over again when the original site is already here!
I have registered on there and it's dead!

Well no worries, it'll stay here and people can use it if they want to. I'm happy to leave it up in any case, as this forum is the main place where people come across my Gamesmaster DVD set searching in Google and what-not, so it more than pays for itself.
I know I got in contact with Alex about taking over GMLive, as did a few others, but it just fell off the net and a lot of great forum content was lost. A forum like this where there may not be more than a handful of people posting few and far between means it's only really worthwhile if the forum is around for a long time and builds up decent content. Starting from scratch means content posted years back is simply lost forever, links to uploads of rare scans/video/audio content just gone, and most people won't bother to come back again, which is a shame. This forum has 46 members; a fraction of the number of members of the original GMLive forum.
With that in mind, if anyone has any saved stuff from the old forum they want to re-share, I'm happy to give the hosting space so things can stay online?
