i think a remake would be okay as long as it is done right, with seperate characters and set in modern times.  it could be a fun tribute.

More so than any of the other genre masterpieces, The Evil Dead is the one that really should never be remade. Modern Hollywood CGI BS would not be appropriate and would never capture the magic that this movie had.

They should just continue Comics and games which so far have all been cool and fun as hell.

The remake, should not feature Ash because for a remake, Ash wouldn't be Bruce, and an Ash that's not Bruce is a fake. Like a fat guy dressed as Elvis Presley. They need to make an Army of Darkness sequel or another Evil Dead video game. I still want to see an animated Evil Dead tv show, granted it's on a network with no opposition to animated gore and BC returns to voice Ash.

I'm against a remake - but how could you make a movie and call it The Evil Dead and leave out the one character that mattered and the only one featured in every sequel?

it could be a evil dead movie from the point of view of a deadite. that would be pretty cool. it wouldn't exactly be a remake though.

How about a wacky animated movie or series straight too DVD thing so then we could have more Evil Dead and then since its straight too DVD only Evil Dead fans would see it and then we wouldn't have people that have no idea what Evil Dead is, talking about it like they know.  I'm thinking it be cool if it were animated like The Venture Bros and with the same kind of humor as Venture Bros and Evil Dead, but darker like Evil Dead.

I thought according to Bruce/Rami that the Evil Dead remake would be about a group of teens in a cabin in the woods infested with kandarian demons and the similarities would stop there. I think it was one of those two who said that there would be no Ash character either. I don't really know. But I think the basic storyline and the title are enough to make it a remake. I wouldn't mind if they included all the characters and just renamed Ash because in The Evil Dead, he's just like the other three friends.
