When Ash is in the Pit and sees the spikes closing in on him, he takes off his belt and snaps it around the chain so it can pull him to safety. Especially considering the chances of the belt not successfully holding his weight, why take the time to do that (with spikes AND monsters coming after him), when he could have just reached out and grabbed hold of the chain itself?Comment Summary: definately not as cool

without the belt thing we wouldn't get the indiana jones effect, and anyway it just looks cooler. how simple and dull is it to just grab on? that would be like climbing up the chain to safety instead of waiting for something bad to happen. its not about how accurate or logical you are, it's how good you look when you do it.
