Spot The Glitch 07.26.02
More Glitches for you to laugh at ... or ponder about, or mull over.
- OK. Man, the glitches keep on coming on in fast and furious style. Speaking of The Fast and the Furious, let's all get busy and find some glitches on that one. I will be covering it next week. I've already got a few but I need more more more!

In other Glitch news:

1. This week's update is kind of small and all of the images are reader submitted. I ran out of time and had to resort to this instead of capturing some images of my own.

2. I will be gone for a month starting August 5. Jeremy will be doing this column until I return. So if he screws up or fails to deliver the high quality you all have come to expect, let me know and I'll fire him.

REMINDER: Include the title of the film in the subject line of your e-mail as well as the word glitch. We are using a filtering program due to the volume of e-mail. Also, if you haven't seen your glitch yet, don't worry. We will eventually get to it! (for info on how to submit, scroll to the bottom...)

Now, let's check out:

Army of Darkness -- Wire

"In Army Of Darkness, when Ash is flying into the portal at the beginning you can clearly see the wire which he is hanging on while he swings through the air. I included the original capture and one where I lightened it which is a bit easier to see."

Wires baby. Wires. See them?

How about now? (Photo digitally altered).

Fight Club -- Changing Thermostat

Title 01, Chapter 22, Right around 1hour 16min 17sec

"Apparently (according to the audio commentary) it happened after they had to go back to the office near the end of filming to finish up some of Edwards shots. They had redone the office a bit and replaced the original white temperature gauge on the wall with a black one which can
be seen by comparing the 2 images."

White thermostat.

Black thermostat.

Labyrinth -- Wires, boom

Time Code: 55:55
You can see the boom mike in the top of the frame (just about her knee).

Is that a boom mic above her left knee?

Time Code: 109:33
You can barely see the wires holding her as she falls. I don't think you can really make it out in the reduced size of the capture.

Wires. Squint. Or just check it yourself with the timecode.

Black Hawk Down -- White shirts and gloves

Time Code: 2:05:23
"I didn't know that people in war fatigues wore white shirts(Back of Humvee)"

Is that glaring white t-shirt in the Humvee standard camoflague?

Time Code: 50:38
"Soldier shooting with gloves in wide shot, no gloves in close-up shot."

Gloves ....

Baby baby, where did our gloves go?

The Rock: Criterion Collection -- Cameras galore

These pretty much speak for themselves. We added the yellow boxes for effect to Felipe Marin's eagle-eyed goodness. Thanks Felipe. For those of you who want to check out this chase sequence, it starts at Ch-11, 0:45:17 ... oh, and I specifically remember one glitch from this film but I don't have my damn Rock DVD here at the office. It is when Cage is driving the yellow Ferrari (in this same sequence) and mows down a row of parking meters. The meters do some serious damage to the hood of the car including smashing the front windshield. But then, a few seconds later ... perfect hood, perfect window. I wish my car did that. Or Fran's at least ...

Fran's car needs a little of the ole Michael Bay automatic car fixer thingy.

Anyway, enjoy these Rock grabs from Felipe ...

Cameras.

Camera crew (at house) and camera in street.

Is this camera gonna be wet?

Pyrotechic wires and a camera.

More wires and a camera...

Camera on Humvee and man on roof (film crew?)

Yes, that is a camera.

Hi. We're the camera crew.

Before we go, a few bits of business to clear up. We need the time-stamp of the glitch if you do not submit your own image. We don't have time to watch all these movies and sift through the approximate locations some of you are giving. Also, if you do submit a screenshot (and please do), please submit an unaltered one with the dimensions of 440x267. Easy enough, huh?

How to address your e-mails

Make sure you put the word "glitch" and the title of the film in your e-mail subject line. We're having a hard time keeping track of all the correspondence. Address e-mail to both myself (Steven) and Jeremy. Once again, if you don't have the word "glitch" in your subject line and the movie title, your e-mail could get trashed.
