Army Of Darkness

	For the Sam Raimi film "Army of Darkness" (also known as "Medieval Dead III"), we produced 5 suits of steel armour for the main characters: Ash, "Bad" Ash, Arthur, Gold Tooth, and Duke Henry the Red. For the soldiers of Arthur's army and Duke Henry's men, we fabricated over 30 suits of vacuformed plastic armour, created in 5 different styles which could be mixed and matched to acheive many different looks. We also made 15 suits of miscellaneous vacuformed armour for the "Deadite" Army, which were distressed to fit the look of the "evil dead". To complete the equipment for the heroes and extras, we made 5 steel swords, 100 aluminum swords for background cast, 50 shields and 20 miscellaneous weapons and polearms. We designed all of the pieces we produced in house and coordinated our work with the costume, props and special effects departments. All the above work was perfomed between April and early June 1991 at our facility in San Diego, CA. Back then we used the company name "Vorhut Fahnlein Arms and Armour".
