Plot: These first few minutes are an almost unrecognizable remake of the first movie (good thing it is not important to this film). Ash and his girlfriend are in the cabin and the tape recorder gets played. This brings the Evil and turns the girlfriend into a deadite. Ash is forced to kill his girlfriend, by chopping off her head with a shovel, then bury her. That ends the quick and very different remake, then the sequel begins. This part starts out exactly how the first one ended. When Ash is thrown into the woods by the evil rushing into him, it causes him to turn into a deadite. Dawn saves Ash turning him back into human. During the day Ash tries to leave the woods, but the bridge is completely destroyed. So Ash is forced to go back to the cabin. Then, that night the dead girlfriend climbs out of the ground and attacks Ash. Her head falls is his lap and she bites his hand. Ash goes to the workshed, puts the head in a vise, and cuts her head in two with a chainsaw. Once Ash is back in the cabin his right hand becomes possessed by the evil and it tries to kill him. Ash manages to cut his hand off with the chainsaw before it succeeds. The hand is pretty damn fast and manages to get away from him. Later, the professors daughter shows up with three other people: her boyfriend, and the two locals that showed her the backwoods foot path to the cabin. The boyfriend's soul gets swallowed turning him into a deadite, which forces Ash to chop him up with an axe. All the carnage causes one of the locals to lose it and run off into the woods, she of course gets killed by the deadly trees. The other local gets pulled down into the cellar and mutilated by a deadite. The Professor's daughter manages to open a vortex by translating a spell out of the Book of the Dead. Ash is able to send the Evil into the vortex, but gets sucked into it himself. |
