Evil Dead 2 takes place right after Evil Dead and even carries over a bit. But in the original Evil Dead there are 5 people including Ash and his girlfriend who go there. But in Evil Dead 2 it is just Ash and his Girlfriend who go up. This of course throws off how and when he plays the tape of the professor reading from the Necronomicon and it's circumstances thereof
