BRUCE CAMPBELL ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS...
We were
inundated with questions for "Army
of Darkness" star Bruce Campbell, so thanks for all your
efforts. Read on for Bruce's thoughts on action figures, guns,
and why he'd run away from a real-life fight...
Is there any truth to the rumour that you will be
starring in the upcoming "Spider-Man 2" Jason Teale
Um,
no, and the best thing to always keep your eyes on is my
website [Bruce-campbell.com],
because I have my website for that reason. If you go to my
website and you don't see it, that means it can't be
substantiated. So it's a pretty simple equation. Unfortunately
once certain information outlets get it wrong, it goes
everywhere - like the Internet Movie Database. You can't
always count on it, you gotta check your sources.
What's the best thing you have ever stolen from a set?
Dylan Todd
A cool prop from a movie called "Sundown:
The Vampire in Retreat". It was a very cool Van Helsing holy
water bottle. I have a shelf in my office where I put all
these strange things that I've collected.
What do you look for in a script - what gets your
attention and makes you say "I really want to play THIS part
in THIS movie?" Kevin Redfern
It's a whole series of
factors. First of all it's script and story, what sort of
characters have they created, what sort of dialogue is going
on, who's behind it, who's directing it, producing it, how
long is it going to take to make it, where are they shooting
it? It's really quite a lot. Mainly these days I'm trying to
avoid first-time directors. I just think there's no point
everyone going through school all over again.
Having watched the exploits of Ash through the ages, his
hardline approach to the enemy, lack of ego, immense
brainpower, his pure selflessness and his leadership
qualities, only one question remains... Have you considered
running for President? Marcus Alexander
Maybe in 2008.
I'm weighing options right now - I've formed an exploratory
committee.
Did you ever get badly hurt doing the Evil Dead movies?
Some of the things you did looked pretty painful. Michelle
Waghorn
Not enough to stop filming. I did get injured
briefly. My wife was costume designer on "Army of Darkness"
and she was mad at me so she designed a breastplate that would
jam into my face whenever I bent over. I flipped a stuntman
and it cut my face open and I went to the emergency room and
the doctor didn't know which cut to repair, because as Ash I
had about six cuts on my face. So, I had to point out which
one it was and he stitched me up and we went back to shooting,
because what's the difference? Nine cuts, ten cuts... It
didn't matter. With a Sam Raimi movie there's no good excuse
to stop shooting.
