PC Gameworld: If all goes well with the Evil Dead: Hail
to the King game would you like to do more with other characters
you have done, say like Jack Of All Trades?
Bruce Campbell: Well, it doesn't seem like Jack is
likely to go a second season, so that one isn't worth holding your
breath for - the Evil Dead flicks were considerably more
popular over a long period of time. Having said that, I'm a big
fan of giving folks what they want, so time will tell, eh?
PC Gameworld: While there certainly is a fan base wanting
to see an Evil Dead 4 movie, none is planned. Would you want
to do another movie or are you content letting it end and doing
the game versions instead?
Bruce Campbell: I'm fine either way, frankly. The three
flicks were creatively cool, but pretty taxing physically. I'd only
do another one if we had the right budget, were left alone and if
Sam directed. Other than that, we'll let the sequel gods decide...
As for the game - it's a great return to new, yet familiar territory
for fans.
PC Gameworld: And finally, stepping away from the game, you
are directing an episode of VIP, coming out with a book
Confessions Of A "B" Movie Actor and guest starring in an episode
of Beggars and Choosers. Could you share with us a little
about each of those projects?
Bruce Campbell: The VIP gig came from an e-mail I
got from one of the writers. Next thing I knew, I was in the bosses
office selling them on why I should direct their show. That's the
wacky way it all seems to work in this business. I'm doing a second
episode right now, so I must be doing okay, I guess... =)
The book is being finished right now - it's due out Spring of 2001
and should be a good dose of reality for young filmmakers and anyone
interested in the "blue collar" side of Hollywoood.
Beggars and Choosers should be a hoot, because I get to play
a gay person - can't say I've done that one before.
