The third and
final interview from the Chillerfest weekend was with
none other than Theresa Tilly... "WHO?" you ask. Theresa
Tilly IS Sarah York. Sarah York IS Theresa Tilly. It's
The Evil Dead, it's not supposed to make sense. Sarah
attended Chillerfest on her own, without the company of
fellow deadites Besty Baker and Ellen Sandweiss, as she
explains...
CS.com: ... first
thing's first, where are the other two
ladies?
SY: I'm
glad you asked, because they're the ones who wanted me
to come to this show and I said I was a little busy for
a whole week in London, but they said "no no", and where
are they? Does anybody see them? Hello? No... they're
not here. That is because fearless though they were in
the making of The Evil Dead, they chickened out.
*laughs* Truthfully though... the war. It's left
everyone very emotional and fearful.
CS.com:
Well, hopefully we'll have the three of you
united for Chillerfest 2 in September.
SY: I
hope so. Or maybe they will turn up on their own.
*laughs* I should send them over next
time.
CS.com:
You maybe here with Bruce Campbell next time
so you never know...
SY:
You never know! Bruce shows up in the oddest places
so it's very possible.
CS.com:
He showed up in a wrestling ring in
'Spider-man' so... never say never I
guess.
SY:
He was great in that wasn't he? I loved Bruce in it,
that was my favourite part of the movie. It was also one
of my favourite parts I've seen Bruce play. Did you see
'Bubba Ho-Tep'?
CS.com: Unfortunately not.
We're still waiting for it to be picked up. Really want
to see it though.
SY:
He is like you've never seen him
before!!
CS.com:
I've seen the trailer and plenty of photos of
him in the Elvis 'get-up', looks
fantastic!
SY:
He's great! He's got the accent and everything...
just amazing!
CS.com:
Ok, let's start from the beginning... fake
names, fake shemps, fake blood! Where did this all come
from?
SY:
Sounds like THE EVIL DEAD to me. Well, Fake Shemp, I
don't know if you guys know what that's in reference to,
but apparently in some of the 'Three Stooges' TV shows,
Shemp was one of the actors and he died in the middle of
shooting. So in order to finish the production they
would use other people but shoot them from a different
angle so you couldn't tell who it was, thus the term
"fake Shemp". I only learned that while I was filming
THE EVIL DEAD, I don't think I ever saw a 'Three
Stooges' show before that. Sam (Raimi) would often
reffer to those of us doing other parts that were other
people as 'Fake Shemps'.
