Channel 4 ran a Sci-Fi weekend of programming over three nights; Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th and Monday 28th of August, 1995, to coincide with the international science fiction convention Worldcon in Glasgow. It featured documentaries and movies all around the theme of fantasy & science fiction. The movies included THX 1138, Outland, The Man Who Fell To Earth, and Soylent Green, along with special documentaries and assorted bits and pieces. Channel 4 even gave the weekend its own special idents. The total line-up of programming across the three evenings ran around 24h 50m. It's something I remember fondly from my childhood.

I'd love to make a decent quality SD Blu-Ray transfer of the whole presentation as I did with BBC2's May 1995 Forbidden Weekend. As with that project, all the feature films here, are now easily available on DVD/Blu-Ray, although the versions aired may (or may not) differ from one or other of the various retail release versions, which is why I don't want to simply populate this project with retail release rips of the films' in question. The only footage I want to include was specifically recorded from that airing back in 1995. As of now, I have around 3h 25m of the total, transferred from two VHS tapes. This covers Beam Me Up Scotty! & Secret History - The Roswell Incident, plus feature THX-1138. The tapes also contain two episodes of The X-Files, and one of Alien Nation, although neither are part of the weekend line-up. I thought I'd create this page & cover artwork, to get the project out there and hopefully help it along. I'm still some way of something releasable, but my Forbidden Weekend set began way back in 2012, and it wasn't until 2024 I could release an almost-complete version.
