I did make contact with them and pointed out that this was my work, and all DVD covers they were using even had my name on the back, but I never got a proper reply. The same site sells a list of big-name bootleg live concert DVDs, along with a long list of other high profile new films & TV shows, so I highly doubt they would care in the slightest about ripping off my work. The above said, I have no more rights to claim ownership over this source material than they do. It just sticks a little that they would take my work in creating the sets and pass it off as their own.
With all that in mind, I spent a few days noodling away at an 80s style generic-intro-text & ident to play at the start of all my new and upgraded DVD & Blu-Ray projects from now on, as a sort of branding for my efforts. Then people can find their way back to my website regardless of where they got the project from, plus it makes it a little more hassle for people to rip off my projects, as they would have to somewhat re-author each disc to get rid of it. Fittingly, the first project on which this will be used, will be a new & expanded 2022 Mary Whitehouse Experience Blu-Ray set.
There are two intro/ident versions, a cleaner 35mm scan style version, and a VHS-capture style version, depending on the sort of project it would be used on. It was created from scratch using After Effects & Premiere, along with a few plug-ins, and the two below tutorial videos for help with the actual logo animation;
The music was edited from the Shogun Assassin score. As the original title Online Portfolio, and lately Rob's Online Project Showcase, don't make much sense when used here as a branding/title logo, as of this addition, I rebranded this site and my Facebook page to Rob's Nostalgia Projects. That's a more distinctive catch-all title which reflects my work, as just about every project on my list is related to some element of personal nostalgia. I also enabled a shorter website address I could put in the intro text; BookOfTheDead.ws/RNP/, which is just a forwarding address to the existing site.
