ED2 Homelite XL Real Chainsaw Reference Photos

Post by EvilDeadChainsaws »

Back when I re-started EvilDeadChainsaws in 2013, before I began, I took extensive photos of the Homelite XL2 chainsaw I bought. I got an XL2 as for my purposes was basically the same, and this was the best condition saw I could find on eBay at the time. I bought it without the guide bar & chain as it was cheaper for shipping. I took these photos so I would have a decent reference once I took it apart, not only to see where things went and how it was assembled, but also where the dirt collects, although it was a pretty clean saw, and as a painting/colour reference. That way if I wanted to add a little detail from the original, to my replica saw, I had a record I could refer to.

You have various angles around the body, then I took the whole engine unit out and photographed that as well. In the next post, I really gave the whole thing a good clean, and took more photos so I could see the finer details.

Here is another round of photos, this time various angles on a spotlessly clean saw.
