These are some of the pages I've come across over the years detailing other
peoples visits to the site of the ED cabin. I also have a folder full of images
I can't find the original sites for, so there will be more pages out there if
someone knows any which aren't listed.

"The cabin actually belongs to the people across the street and they don’t like tourists coming by for a visit. They are actually planning on tearing the rest of it down but just hadn’t gotten to it yet.  In the ultimate definition of a sweet deal they pay this guy to take care of the property and keep the curious (read us) out."

Hee hee .... they have a cabin site keeper now, and an admirably corrupt one at that ($20 bribe)..

Thanks for taking the time to compile those here.

if so many people have been there, then that means that their time capsule has more then likely been dug up

The time capsule is lost forever... Sam and Bruce admitted they can't recall where they buried it. They said the hole they dug for the fruit cellar scenes, but if you look at The Evil Dead Companion and the image of the time capsule being buried, then you see that the hole where the time capsule is, isn't in the cabin you can see dirt and grass around it.

They also think they might've buried it somewhere in Michigan. I vote it never gets found, because if it does it'll wind up on eBay and some kid will get it and probably never appreciate it.

i doubt it would be a kid buying it with the amount of money it would cost to buy it after the auction is over

I think if someone had sold it on ebay, a sale that major would become general knowledge.
It would be far more likely that if anyone had gone to the trouble of digging lots of holes
until they did find it, I think they'd keep it (and I'd guess keep quiet about it)

Another possibility would be that it had been dug up & discarded by mistake for whatever
reason (such as by a utility company like laying down water or electric mains who didn't
know what it was.

The cabin is not a cabin at all. if you buy the evil dead2 dvd it has a little book all about evil dead 2. it was actually a high school in north Colorado Tongue

evil spelled backwards is live, which has noting to do with dead.

This thread is refering to the cabin from ED1, the cabin from ED2 was indeed filmed on various sets although I'm fairly sure the exterior cabin part of the set still exists somewhere. the cabin from ED1 was a real building, but it burned down at some point after the production finished.

I believe Bruce said he didn't know what ever happened to the time capsule and that a kid had brought him a brick from the site to sign.
