Oh and let me add, I understand that a lot of you despise prequels/sequels/remakes/female starbuck....  But if you have no news or (positive) comments to add, please leave your unwanted hate comments in the thread we had awhile ago talking about remakes. Well, sorry to rain on your parade Joda, but this sounds like an awful idea to me.  The original was such a tightly-written, singular film, a sequel couldn't be more gratuitous.  And Richard Kelly's lack of involvement is the mouldy cherry on the bitter cake.

This film will most certainly "suck a fuck".

Joda, I apologise if my language offended you, but as Ash Plissken pointed out (I think, anyway) it was merely intended as a harmless reference to a line in the original film.

Adds Simon Crowe, whose British sales company Velvet Octopus will be selling the movie at Cannes, “I think there is a new generation of cinemagoers who will be very excited to see this film. Donnie’s not in it, but there are meteorites and rabbits.”

As awful an idea as this is, I will at least wait until the film to pass judgement.

I dont know what has been going on in the forums lately as I have been away but there is no need for all the bickering, and we are grown ups here so some harmless bad language should be tollerated but no personel remarks please.

Anyways my take on S. Darko:

This movie is only being made because one of the producers of the first movie was fired from the project but still owned some rights to the movie, Richard Kelly is trying to get an injuction against the film makers to stop them making it.

If Frank makes and appearence as the poster suggests it gives you an idea that the new filmmakers dont have a clue about continutity as only Donnie seen Frank and this was after the Timeline got split, so in S. Darko's timeline Donnie never even left his bedroom when the jet engine fell.

Huge fan of the original and I just wont watch this sequel as it doesnt interest me in the slightest.

Does anyone really know what all happened in Donnie Darko. Anyways Its probably gonna be one of those movies that all watch on like HBO when it comes out, I mean since it has to do with the original it has a chance of being good.
