I know it sounds like a James Bond film but it isn't.

I coined the term to describe myself when I first entered the world of forums. My first forum was the Browncoats on SerenityMovie.com. I posted like crazy (sweet sweet work internet access) and pretty soon started getting giddy about what folks would write back about stuff I'd posted. It kinda felt like I'd been published for the first time ever and I got twice as excited when I was quoted. Better still were "quoters" who also noted how right I was - man, I was hooked.

Soon, however, I noticed a strange thing happening. Topics were slowly moving down the ranks and on them all it said the same thing: Last message by "TheCapn"

I soon realised I was a threadkiller. For some reason my last word WAS the last word. I bumped occasionally but to no avail. I posted on other forums and discovered the same thing. I chalked it up to coincidence.

Then just a moment ago I checked this forum. And the trend is starting again!

I AM THREADKILLER!

Well I can tell you why it happens... When people post pointless replies, people tend to get annoyed and ignore.

Haha, I read what you put and I was like "man I should quote what you put and say 'hey this guy's right'"... then I thought about it.

Quote
"I'm a threadkiller"

So true

So instead of that, I'm just going to say take a peek at the filmmaker forums... I'm the threadkiller lol

P.S.
Look at Off-Topic-Gut-Spewing Page 1... there's about 10 topics and they all have the same person as the last post... and it's not you

And so the "lets get as many posts as possible to bump up our forum status" trend begins...

Man I wish the newbies would check the forum rules before posting (god I sound like an old man!)

I wasn't trying to " Thread Kill" the other day so I'm sorry for doing that.

Oh I'm not pointing fingers. I just thought I'd share this strange trend and wondered if anyone else had ever experienced the feeling of being a Threadkiller. It can be quite un-nerving to see that everything you have to offer in a conversation means nothing and kills it stone dead.

Especially when someone posts 39 times on their first day...

I have sort of felt this way before, but I thought that perhaps my input just wasn't that important. Haha, I still slink around here all the time, but I rarely post. I mostly enjoy just reading the new info that pops up here and there.

I am wondering, though, who the threadkiller on this topic will be? Hopefully, not me. That would be too depressing.
