George Romero's new zombie flick - seriously, go see it. I went to the pre-release here this past friday and, it's intense. Very deep for a living dead flick to boot. And it's characters? Insane. This old amish dood samuel? Total bad ass. Total.

Many people may not like the ending, but I found it to be profound. I mean c'mon. Name another guy who does awesome political zombie films? Smiley

Anyways, it's set for normal theatrical release here soon - keep an eye out for it.

I had a theater a couple towns away that was showing it, I wish I wasn't lazy. I can't wait to see it, looks like Romero still has it.

Romero has truly lost his mind.  This wasn't only THE WORST zombie movie I've seen in ages, it was possibly one of the worst movies I've ever seen, full stop  Terrible dialogue delivered by a bunch of third-rate local Canadian actors, together it makes for some truly cringe worthy moments.  Exposition all over the place!  It was sloppy, it was poorly written, acted, directed, even the effects were bad.  Budget has nothing to do with it, we've all seen Bubba Ho-Tep.

I payed nothing to see it and I still felt ripped off.

I agree and disagree... I agree it was pretty bad, but disagree that Third-rate local Canadian actors shouldn't be lumped together with the 2x4s that were in Diary of the Dead.

The beginning was poorly written and the dialogue was soooooo unrealistic... The camera movements were very very artificial (after seeing Cloverfield raise the bar of realistic... crappy camera movements... it's kinda hard to live up to it).

The graphics look to have been done with the student version of after effects and like a preset from videocopilot.net...

but, to use a metaphor in attempt to be just... it's like getting kicked in the balls REALLY hard with a magic boot... it hurts at first and you feel like your eyes are bleeding, but in the end it's not too bad... and you cum an elf... cause... it's magical...

Come on Kain, should always give it a shot. While it wasn't Romero's finest, it is still worth a viewing.

Watched this for a second time this week. I'm torn. Never feels like a Romero flick and it loses points for an almost all teen/early20's cast and far too many CGI fx but it has its moments too. Much better than Land of the Dead for as much as that's worth..

What's worse is that the only interesting characters in the entire film are the ones with the least amount of screen time.  I can't understand how anyone would willingly watch this movie more than once unless it was meant as some form of self imposed torture.  Yeesh....

I'm sad Samuel doesn't even get to live long enough to make us wonder if he'll get his own spin-off movie...

C'mon who doesn't want to see a horror flick about a mute ammish farmer with kick-ass skills?

I saw it this weekend. Obviously, the Dead films have been loosing their touch (not including the remakes -ugh- the remakes) and I think this is the weakest of the entire series. These last two installments have that feeling like with a tv show and the quality is decreasing at a rapid rate and you just feel it's jumping the shark. I did enjoy Land of the Dead but I can't say I liked this one. It's just not as fresh or frightning.

I agree with Boomstickchick. Although she already knows. I was a huge fan of the film and thought it went in the right direction for me. I was surprised I went to see this at the cinema (when it's more of a dvd movie) and saw Cloverfield (Big budget smasher) on DVD.

Many websites are saying this handheld camera thing is becoming stale but I saw my 4th one recently, Blair Witch being first.

Anybody seen [rec]? It is incredible. Please watch it before the US remake comes out.

It would help if I wasn't being reluctant to import it...
