Yes, folks...

It appears that Evil Dead: The Musical is coming back for another run in it's hometown of Toronto starting this coming Valentine's Day.  Here's a snippet from the official website:

Quote
Yes, it’s true… EVIL DEAD THE MUSICAL is coming BACK to TORONTO!!! That’s right, the show MTV calls "The Greatest Musical Phenomenon on the Planet" is returning to the city where it all began. And we’re coming back just in time to make this Valentines Day the bloodiest ever!
In case you have forgotten...

Evil Dead was voted “Toronto’s Favourite Show” (Audience Choice 2007 Dora Award)
We got 4 Star reviews from the Star, Globe, Sun and NOW Magazine.
Craig Ferguson did an entire monologue on his trip to Toronto to see the show!
The soundtrack bumped the Lion King off the Billboard charts!
And most importantly, our fans made the show the funniest and wildest night you could ever have in Toronto!
It’s based on Sam Raimi’s 80’s cult classic films, where 5 college kids travel to a cabin in the woods and accidentally unleash an evil force. And although it may sound like a horror, its not! The songs are hilarious, campy, and everyone walks out with a smile on their face.
We still have the Splatter Zone where the audience can get doused with blood. And just like last time we’re back at the Diesel Playhouse with full bar service throughout the show. Does it get any better than that?

If you haven’t seen the show yet, now is your chance. If you have seen it, you should see it again. And if you’re looking for a Christmas gift… nothing shows you care like some tickets to Evil Dead! (And to make it easier we’re now even selling gift certificates for tickets).

I agree that a US tour is what this show needs, I was able to see it in Toronto 10 times this past summer and am looking forward to a return.

However, Im not sure a tour would be easy to pull off, or you may not get the whole experience of the show, some places might not allow blood, or there might be a probelm with being able to transport the stage as it sits, there might be a touring stage that perhaps may be missing a few things.

All I can say is that if you are able to, head to Toronto for a weekend or something, everyone needs to see this show and it might not have the ability to tour.

I got my Splatter Zone tickets for March 18!  Can't wait to see the show again, the cast was just annouced for the latest run.  So far from what I can see they've re-cast the part of Scotty.  That's too bad, I really enjoyed Matt Olmstead's take on the character.

When I get a chance I'll post up my pics from the night Bruce was at the show last year.

God hates me - so he dumped me in England.

Apprently good healthcare but nothing cool ever happens (cue meteor strike cause when anybody says "nothing happens" or "what I'd give for a little action" something HUGE kicks off)

Got my SZ tickets too.. and airplane tickets.. and booked the hotel.. I was so choked when I missed the first run, no way I'm going to miss it again.

(in case anyone cares, vancouver->toronto, seeing the Mon Feb 25 8:00 PM show, I'll be the guy in a white shirt, covered in blood, with the very patient, if confused, wife also covered in blood.)

You can buy a white Evil Dead: The Musical shirt from the booth before the show.  They sell lots of other goodies but you'll see most people in the SZ sporting the white Evil Dead: The Musical shirts.  A bloody Evil Dead: The Musical shirt makes for the ultimate souvenir from the show.

And if you don't get enough or any blood on you there's a little tradition I've seen after the show.  Those who are the bloodiest will often share (in the form of a firm hug) with other SZ patrons who may not have been splattered at all.
