The only reason to keep something like this in the packaging is if you want to sell it to someone later on.

If you actually want to own it and keep it you should open it! Especially something like this where you can't even see it without opening it.

I have some insanely rare stuff in this collection, like the Sideshow 12" S-Mart Ash with the pricing gun (only the first 250 had the pricing gun) and the Palisades 3.75" S-Mart Ash which there are reportedly less than 200 of.  They'd be even more valuable if they weren't opened (though some stuff like the Sideshow figures can easily be re-packaged since there's nothing destroyed in the opening process) but I don't care because I'd never part with any of it.

Well part of the reason I keep the packaging is because thats what you pay for as well as the figures, also stops them getting damaged, I do however have my statues on display (Army of Darkness 10th anniversay figure and so on) and I do plan on having my new sideshow figure on display once he arrives from the US and when I find a decent glass display case for it.

Plus I did buy the mcfalane figures opened from ebay as to keep one set in the packaging.

As with you Im never gonna part with my collection been a fan over 17 years now.

I agree with you man, The figures I have, I opened them all. Some of my family members say that I should keep them in the packaging, I always say no because I want to keep them because thats why I got them in the first place. And some of my family members never understand, but I love my figures outside of the packaging in all of their glory.
