I loved A Fistful of Boomsticks... I never finished it, but I dug the different add-ons for the chainsaw arm, the huge arsenal of weapons, the whole time travel within the same location. It was awesome, I recently bought Regeneration, but the 360 can't play it... I played it a bit at my buddies house on his xbox, but it didn't impress me as much...

I can still recall when Deadites Online first posted the news of of Evil Dead Hail to the King and the caption of Bruce saying it was the next best thing to Evil Dead 4...Classic marketing also the advert with Bruce and Hedge trimmer!

I had the same problem with Regeneration when I bought my 360, but a recent Backwards Compatibility Update over Xbox Live lets you play it now (as well as Fistfull of Boomstick).

My favorite is regeneration. it's got the best graphics and having unlimited ammo is great!

That is still the best commercial for any video game imo. My favorite game is probably Hail to the King, mainly from the memories of spending my whole Christmas break playing it, when everyone I knew hated it. The one-liner button was the best part of the game.

I really liked "Fistfull of Boomstick" so it gets my vote. I need to find a new copy of "Hail to the King" since my copy has a scratch on one of the discs that won't let it play.

I was so psyched when HTTK came out. I played it a few times until I got stuck trying to get out of the cave. I knew I had to use the shovel but where? After a series of failed attempts, clicking on every part of wall I gave up. A friend of mine came round and first try dug his way out. Then the scouts with the arrows kept killing me. So, a little later on my ex had a dreamcast and the game and in one sitting I got all the way through to the End Boss and died. It got late so I went home but for the life of me I can't get anywhere on the PSX version.

FOB is my favourite. Hail's story is more classic ED whereas Fistful has a grander theme and some great cutscenes. The finale where you find out what mess Ash is in now is hilarious with it's new take on an old line. Plus the opening where the bartender becomes possessed and Ash says "Make mine a double!" before blasting him away is genius. Second best line from a game - the first being from Pitfall 3D (any guesses why I bought this game?) where Harry says "Hey, beautiful girl? Suicide mission? I'M IN!"

I have been playing Regen a lot lately even though I know the ending is lame. It has some awesome points but the soul collecting gets repetative and having to keep Sam alive while he carries a soul is a bitch.

I really wish they would do a next gen game. A Survival Horror expansion of the first film with elements of HTTK thrown in. But I guess it's just a dream... just a dream.

I despised Hail to the King. The one-liner button and Bruce Campbell were the only upsides to that game. A Fistful of Boomstick was pretty good, I finished it in a week though. The downside was trying to find ammo when your getting chased by a bazillion deadites. Regeneration was my favorite and the funniest of the three. The addition of Unlimited Ammo, Sam, and a new chick for Ash to fight for was great. I blasted through it in two days. I somewhat felt cheated by the ending though but with some thought, It was easy to put in the timeline.

I enjoyed every one of them. When I first played Hail to the King when I was younger, I thought it was cool and pretty creepy. I just remember everybody hating it for the controls and everything was limited. My thing was if you get past the graphics, controls, and limited ammo and gas you are set. For the first Evil Dead game I thought it was a lot of fun.
When A Fistfull of Boomstick came out I thought it went above and beyond HTTK. I thought the controls and graphics were by far better than the first and was overall a really cool game.
Regeneration was my favorite because it had a "What if" element to it and that made a great storyline. Graphics and controls were great as well. You also got Sam (which at first I wasn't all hyped about him but by the end I thought he was a terrific character) Also everything was unlimited, so that made twice as fun.

The controls were okay and you always had enough ammo and gas because once you ran low the deadites would drop stuff and bring you back to fully stocked. My gripe was in the deadites respawning. They wouldn't go away and whenever you had one on either side you were just plain dead. Running was out of the question too as one would slash and the other would vomit and you'd be dead in seconds.

The difficulty was just set way too high. Which is a shame as the game would've been a thousand times better with a little leniency.

HTTK + Gameshark = one of the best gaming experiences.
