I don't think it should be remade but what's with all the remakes? They're even remaking HELLRAISER.

Its not a remake, its set 20 years after OCP scrapped the Robocop Program, its a sequel and is to be directed by a much respected director named Darren Aronofsky, they also aiming for a Hard R rating, this movie can only make up for the dreadful Robo 3, hell we might even have a Peter Weller Cameo as the original Robo might have a part to play.

Peter Weller was obviously the best Robocop. The one who was in the Prime Directives mini-series wasn't bad though.

I am excited that they are going the sequel route with Robocop, hopefully we will see some continuity with the miniseries.

That's one reason why I hope they acknowledge the miniseries (it ignored 2 & 3).

And another issue, I hope it has the same hardcore violence the original had, especially the directors cut.

With Aronofsky on board, I personally can't wait for this film. Like most people, I thought the initial idea of a remake seemed terrible, but now I'm very interested.

I can't see this director selling out or compromising his vision. Just no ninja robots.

Yeah. They're remaking Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street. I think it's really stupid. Remakes are supposedly to "bring something into this century" but just 5 years ago we saw Freddy Vs. Jason. They're is no need to reintroduce the character when everyone knows who they are in the first place.

They just know the fact that Jason is a mask wearing crazy. A lot of people won't take the time to watch the originals due to years there were made. This could give a whole new set of fans the urge to watch the older ones.

Good point, Joda. I used to be like that. I knew who they where just didn't know the stories. It wasn't until about two years ago did I see any of the Freddy or Jason films. But that's a convo for another thread.
