I saw this topic raised on IMDB yesterday. I wonder if someone could acquire it somehow . . .
Bruce, from a recent interview:
"Q: So, you hurt yourself filming this scene.
A: In a way. Emotionally I hurt myself. It's emotionally damaging chopping wood and knowing that nobody's going to see it.
Like, I did a Nike commercial once. It never aired. I never saw it. It never, ever aired. I think it's in the Nike museum now. I remember shooting it, and everyone seemed really happy. "Oh, this is wonderful. Oh, this is just like this. Oh, I'm so glad we're doing this." Cut to tumbleweeds. That's an emotional scar: to not get your Nike ad aired. A deep scar.
Q: What was the content of the ad?
A: It was very "Hudsucker Proxy." A guy with his hat tipped back, a very period reporter, doing a blow-by-blow of something happening and typing at the same time. I don't know. You got me, brother.
Q: This was before the "Old Spice" ads, before people figured out you were advertising gold?
A: Exactly. Nike didn't know. They must have seen "Alien Apocalypse" or something."
