Diablo III officially announced!!!

Last year, a week before it announced Starcraft 2 at it's Worldwide Invitational, Blizzard put up a teaser splash image on their website to hint that the game was about to be announced. The splash image changed each day until the game was announced on Saturday.



Yesterday a new splash image was placed on the website. This new image has fueled speculation, but no one could be sure what it was hinting at. However, when the image changed today...the new game that may be announced at this years Blizzard Worldwide Invitational this weekend may have been confirmed.



Diablo III

In the first image, a lone rune could be seen. However, as this rune appears in both the Warcraft and Diablo universes, it did not confirm anything. Today, when the image was updated, a new rune appeared. And that rune is a Hel rune from Diablo II.

Could this be the confirmation that Diablo III is finally under way? I hope so.

Well, that is pretty cool but I'm still holding out for a new Blackthorne game to be honest with you.

I really hope it is either Diablo 3 or possibly Diablo mmorpg (not just Diablo 2 online play).

I decided to modify the title instead of creating a new thread, but it's true! Today at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational, the revered game maker announced Diablo III through a cinematic teaser trailer that can be viewed here:

Sadly, the game will not be released for three years, after the new WoW expansion Wrath of the Lich King and Starcraft II.

It will be well worth the wait. I honestly would rather have Diablo 3 before Starcraft 2, but that mainly cause I suck at Starcraft...

I really enjoy playing Starcraft, but boy am I terrible at it...
