remember midway through the halloween franchise where myers has that whole "celtic demon possession thing" going on? it was called "thorn" i think. basically offering an unneeded backstory, letting us know too much about mikey to make him freaky anymore.

Yes, the Curse of Thorn. I enjoyed having a backstory to help explain why he is the way he is. Like Ive said before, if you dont like it, just ignore Halloween 5-6.

I like Halloween 5 because it adds even more mystery to the Myers story. In my opinion they should have left it with the tattoos and not have done part 6.

Let's just say...I know who's the most HANDS ON killer.

Halloween rocked. Great film. But my abiding memories of the sequels are...
Parts 2,4,5,6,7 and 8 are REALLY BLOODY SIMILAR (except, obviously, each is a little worst than the last) but more importantly, Mr Myers.
Always looming in the bloody shadows. 1 minute, 2 minutes, standing right behind whichever character's about to be bumped off. JUST STANDING THERE so the audience have time to say "Ooh, Watch out!" panto-style, then back into the shadows, to re-appear infront of said character, stick something sharp in them, then mince off.

Jason voorhees will pop up, snap your spine, then put your head through a tree.
No poncing about.
And the Friday The 13th sequels...
They wern't always a success (they OFTEN wern't) but each tried to do something a little different.

Michael and Jason. Two very similar characters, except one is FAR more brutal than the other.

Except...
Except...Michael was really HARDCORE in the remake...You don't suppose Rob Zombie was...trying to make him more like...Jason?!
