This page details a 1991 curio; a demo of a The Evil Dead game for the Commodore Amiga. As opposed to a demo in the sense of a short demonstration of a forthcoming full game, this was intended to be a showcase of programming skill pushing the boundaries of the Amiga's hardware, by a group calling themselves Possessed Productions. It's one of many many similar demos. As far as is known, this game was never developed beyond this demo disc, nor was it ever likely intended to be. If you're able to add any further detail to this item, please get in touch.
The Evil Dead demo itself plays out identically whether you interact with it or not. After some introductory text, you can shoot three demons in sequence in the cabin, with more text following before the demo begins repeating. While the introduction borrows music from Evil Dead II the demo itself is based on the first film, with the three demons; Cheryl, Shelly & Scotty. You can watch the demo in full below.
You can download the original DMS game file here, playable with an Amiga emulator. You will need to set the emulator to emulate a standard Amiga 1200, as the game seems to crash at the intro logo on anything lower. This file was made available thanks to the AmigaDemos website.
