Within the Woods (1979)
Short Movie Plot
- Four college students, two couples, decide to
vacation at a farmhouse in the woods. One couple,
played by Scott Spiegel and Mary Valenti, stay in
the house playing Monopoly while the other couple,
played by Bruce Campbell and Ellen Sandweiss,
decide to go picnicking in the woods. During this
excursion Bruce stumbles across an ancient Indian
burial ground and unearths a cross, a broken bowl
and a hunting knife buried in a shallow grave.
Despite protests from Ellen, Bruce disturbs the
grave but he assures her that he hasn't aroused
any Indian spirits. Ellen retreats to the picnic
site leaving Bruce over the grave. Bruce,
surprise, has aroused the spirit which
subsequently murders and mutilates him then
possesses his body in order to use Bruce as an
avenging zombie-like assassin. The demonic Bruce
then chases Ellen back to the farmhouse where he
wreaks vengeance on his friends in the name of the
spirit that occupies him. |
The Evil Dead - A.K.A. Book of the Dead (1982)
Movie Plot
- A group of friends (Ash, Linda, Scotty, Shelly
and Cheryl) go to a cabin in the Tennessee woods,
where they find an unspeakable evil lurking in the
forest. They find the Naturan Demanto -- the "Book of
the Dead" -- and the Professor Knowby's taped
translation of the text on a tape recorder. Once
the tape is played, the evil is released. One by
one, the teens become possessed into deadites. With only one remaining, Ash, it
is up to him to survive the night and battle. |
Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn (1988)
Movie Plot
- Sequel to The Evil Dead where Ash does not
manage to escape the evil from the first movie.
Ash must now survive another night in the cabin
accompanied now by the Professor's daughter, Annie
Knowby, and find a way to dispel the evil for
ever. The night turns into a non-stop, grotesquely
comic battle with chainsaw and shotgun on one
side, demon horde and flying eyeball on the other.
Again, after the evil kill everyone, Ash, it is up
to him to survive the night and battle! |
Army of Darkness - A.K.A. Evil Dead 3: Army of
Darkness (1993)
Movie Plot
- Ash finds himself stranded in the 13th Century
with his car, his shotgun, and his chainsaw. Soon
he is discovered and thought to be a spy for a
rival kingdom and is taken prisoner. After proving
his merit in The Pit, he decides to help the
kingdom retrieve the Necronomicon ex Mortis (which will also
help him return to his own time), which they need
to battle the supernatural forces at play in the
land. Ash accidentally releases the Army of
Darkness when retrieving the book and a fight to
the finish ensues. Finally, Ash returns back in
his own time, at his job at S-Mart. |
Evil Dead: Hail to the King - A.K.A. Evil Dead 4:
Hail to the King (2000)
Game Plot
- Eight years have passed and Ash is beginning to
have nightmares and hallucinations of the deadites
and the evil in the woods. Jenny, his new
girlfriend, convinces him to go back to the old
cabin in the woods, to face down his fears and
prove to him that nothing's there. This may be
Ash's worst decision yet: his possessed hand
emerges from the shadows, switches on the old
tape-player, and awakens the evil. Jenny is
kidnapped, Ash's dark half breaks out of the
mirror and now Ash has to find the missing pages
to dispel the evil. The good news is that there's
an axe hanging on the wall and the old chainsaw's
waiting out in the workshed... |
Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick - A.K.A. Evil
Dead 5: A Fistful of Boomstick (2003)
Game Plot
- Ash the chainsaw-handed hero will have to
save the town of Dearborn from the influence of
the infamous Necronomicon ex Mortis -- "The Book
of the Dead." As with the film Army of
Darkness,
Ash will also do a little bit of the time
travelling as he heads to different periods of
time including colonial America and the era during
the American Civil War, complete with some slight
variations on the town of Dearborn. This newest
addition promises to continue the saga of the
Necronomicon and remain fully faithful to the
films and previous games. | |
