-- Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash

Here is just some of the scenes either scripted or filmed that for one reason or another were removed. The list is not exhaustive as I'm sure there would've been more:

1. “French Kiss” – Filmed
In the finished film Ash decapitates Linda and is terrorized by her zombie dance he sits in the rocking chair “too terrified to scream”. When the decapitated head falls in his lap it was intended that a four-foot tongue would shoot out of her mouth and ram its way down Ash’s throat. The sequence was shot in reverse but was dropped at Raimi’s insistence due to Campbell’s inability to get the ‘reverse motion’ acting right.

2. “Squirrel Munching!” – Filmed
After Ash’s second possession in the latter half of the movie. He roams the woods around the cabin in a demonic frenzy, one of the unlucky creatures in his path is a small squirrel, which he promptly picks up and takes a giant bite out of! The stills below are taken from on set camcorder footage.

Squirrel Spit!

3. “Head Chop” – Filmed
Famous deleted scene this one and not removed by the censors either! After Ed becomes possessed, Ash comes at him with an axe and with his first swipe chops his head in two! Many stills of this scene are on the web but no actual footage of this exists anymore. Before are a few different angles of the infamous HEA CHOP scene.

4. “Henrietta are you ok, you look….AAAGGHHH!” – Filmed
During Professor Knowby’s recitation of the passages we see Henrietta knitting in her rocking chair, if you look close enough you can just make out a demonic make up on her face. More footage was filmed including scenes featuring actress Lou Hancock with the trademark white contact lenses.

5. “Original Opening” – Scripted
The film was intended to start in the thirteenth century with the ground breaking open freeing the evil Force pretty much like it happens in The Evil Dead. Was dropped for pacing reasons.

6. “Evil Destruction” – Brainstormed Not Scripted
Summed up in full by co-writer Scott Spiegel, “He [Bruce] starts driving across the bridge.. He’s going across the bridge cautiously. The sun is setting. It’s getting dark….Then from the other side of the ravine comes the evil Force, NRRRRRRRRHHHHH knocking down things. All of a sudden it’s heading for the other end of the bridge, and Bruce sees these trees being ripped by this invisible force. Then it hits the bridge! The wooden slats of the bridge rip up! Bruce puts the car in reverse, but he gets stuck in a hole in the bridge [a la the first movie]. In the meantime the force is bearing down on him. It’s right on top of the car! He pulls the car out at the last moment and gets to the other side as the whole bridge collapses with the evil Force on it.” Ultimately dropped due to budget limitations.

7. “We three convicts!” – Brainstormed Not Scripted
Intended as a pre-credit sequence, the movie would’ve opened with the escape of three convicts who bury a loot next to cabin whilst avoiding the blazing fire iron of the local sheriff. The film would continue as we know it until the convicts return discovering Linda’s fresh grave close to the loot, the would dig until they pulled out her bloated decapitated head. Dropped due to lack of enthusiasm from all quarters.

8. “Annie” – Brainstormed Not Scripted
Originally Annie was supposed to arrive via train not plane. On the journey the spirit of her father would appear before her to forewarn her about the evil and how to defeat it. This scene was re-written and appears in the movie against the cabin backdrop.
