With the exception of Bruce, the rest of the cast abandoned acting after The Evil Dead, although Ellen has come back to acting in the last few years starring in a few low budget horror films. Rich is currently professional driver in rural Michigan, Theresa went on to become a radio personality in Chicago & Los Angeles, and Betsy Baker got into the motor home rental business. All four appear at conventions now and again, far more regularly now than in the past, and Ellen, Theresa & Betsy have their own official Facebook page; Ladies Of The Evil Dead.

Sarah York & Hal Delrich were both members of the Screen Actors Guild when cast, so had to use fake names to avoid getting fined. Sarah's real name is Theresa Seyferth, and Hal's is Rich DeManincor (he came up with his fake name because his two room mates at the time were Hal and Del). Both actors were still spotted by SAG and fined.

Notice the credit of 'Fake Shemp'. This term was derived by the group from the TV show The Three Stooges. When Shemp Howard died, he left four shows unfinished. In order to complete them, another actor was hastily brought in. Joe Palma was the wrong height, weight, and lacked the true mannerisms of Shemp. Even as children the switch was obvious to them, and the term 'Fake Shemp' was born. They used it for any non-speaking Super-8 actor, or if someone had to double for an unavailable actor in a short. Shemps were used so extensively on The Evil Dead, it was elevated to an on screen credit. Its usage has since expanded to include; Shempish meaning anything that is cheesy or second rate, Shemping meaning someone doing nothing of any importance, and Shemp Alert meaning someone being shempish.

Here is a transcript of the cast & crew credits shown at the end of The Evil Dead, formatted as per the original. The list is fairly small, but bearing in mind the scale of the movie it's easy to understand why.
