While Evil Dead II reunited Sam, Rob and Bruce with some of their former collaborators on the original Evil Dead as well as Crimewave, the majority of the cast and crew had never worked with them before. The on-set experience must have been a happy one, however, since many of them wound up working with the boys again, often more than once.
Danny Hicks (Jake) has worked with Sam and Bruce several times, first on Maniac Cop and Darkman, but most recently on Spider Man 2 and My Name Is Bruce. His most infamous role may be as Bill in Scott Spiegel's slasher début, Intruder (aka Night Crew). Peter Deming, who has built a long, established career as a cinematographer since being hired on Evil Dead II at the eleventh hour, recently reunited with Sam to great effect on Drag Me To Hell. Much of the make-up effects crew – including the future founders of KNB (Kurtzmann-Nicotero-Berger), as well as Tony Gardner – worked on Darkman and Army Of Darkness, among others. Kaye Davis, who was the initial editor on Crimewave (before she was ejected by Embassy), later edited Lunatics and Running Time for Bruce and Josh Becker.

Of the rest of the cast, Richard Domeier (Ed) now works as a host for the QVC US shopping channel; Kassie Wesley – now better known as Kassie DePaiva – has found great success as the star of daytime soap One Life To Live; and Lou Hancock (Henrietta) had a memorable role the following year in Steve De Jarnatt’s cult classic Miracle Mile. Denise Bixler (Linda) was briefly married to Steve Guttenberg, and currently lives in Switzerland. Sarah Berry (Annie) has just one other film role on her resume, a brief cameo in Chud II: Bud The Chud.

Notoriously, William Preston Robertson’s name is highlighted at the end for his "Amazing Voice". Much fan speculation has gone on as to what Robertson’s contribution to the film was (with many believing he is just a pseudonym for either Sam or Ethan Coen), but as he reveals exclusively to this site, it actually turns out to be... none at all!
Robertson: "Sam Raimi read some of my fiction lying around [Joel & Ethan Coen's] New York apartment and liked it, so hired me to write the novelization of the The Evil Dead (which was never published), then a screenplay based on a story of Sam's called Witches (which was never produced). When the boys made Raising Arizona, I agreed to more free voice work for them, but lobbied for a bigger credit: "And Featuring the Amazing Voice of William Preston Robertson." Which they found sufficiently funny to go along with. Since Evil Dead II was coming out the same month as Raising Arizona, Sam thought it would be funny to create an in-joke and also include the credit, even though I did no voice work for the movie. (I did, however, operate the tongue for the Henrietta 'Swallow Your Soul' demon, even breaking the horizontal wire; I was visiting the set to talk about Witches.)."

Here is a transcript of the cast & crew credits shown at the end of Evil Dead II, formatted as per the original. One omission, as acknowledged in the commentary by Sam, is the script supervisor, Francoise Charlap, who left the première crying when she discovered her name had been accidentally left out of the credits. Among the film’s 'Fake Shemps' are Sam’s uncle, Sid (Solomon) Abrams, Josh Becker and Scott Spiegel, who all appear in the medieval coda. Ted Raimi, Rob and most notably Sam also played knights in the final scene, but were not credited for doing so (though one of the 'Shemps' listed is Roc Sandstorm, an occasional nom de plume of Sam's).
