The cast & crew for Within The Woods was very small, on a smaller scale than their last few Super-8 productions in fact. As far as is known, most of the cast & crew went on to work on The Evil Dead in one capacity or another, with the possible exceptions of Mary Valenti, Doug Sills & Tim Hunter.

Bruce Campbell and Ellen Sandweiss both went on to star in The Evil Dead but only Bruce stayed in acting. Ellen eventually became a full time mother before starting her own business in her native Detroit. She is currently touring with the other ladies from the Evil Dead on the convention circuit. She has lately returned to acting. Both Sam Raimi & Rob Tapert went on to The Evil Dead. Sam has become a successful Hollywood movie director, and Rob (credited as 'Rip') has produced many films since. Tom Sullivan went on to do the special effects on The Evil Dead as well as some on Evil Dead II. Among other things, he now tours the convention circuit with his 'Evil Dead Museum' containing original props & other items. Mary Valenti wasn't involved in the making of The Evil Dead, but her mother Carol ended up investing in the movie.

Scott Spiegel was prevented from being part of the crew for The Evil Dead because of personal commitments, but did do some Fake Shemping. This also prevented him from becoming a partner in Renaissance Pictures. He did however co-write Evil Dead II with Sam as well as becoming a director in his own right: Night of the Intruder (1989) and From Dusk Til Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money (1999) respectively. Ted Raimi did some Fake Shemping in The Evil Dead, and played Henrietta in Evil Dead II. He has since appeared in a number of his brother's movies, along with other film & TV acting roles in his own right.
