-- Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash

The first cut was 97 minutes from a script that was only 62 pages; using the rule of one page equals one minute of screen time this bucked the trend. It seems unusual then that there would even be any deleted scenes working from this premise but that’s what happened. Not a lot of what was ‘scripted’ was cut as most scenes were improvised but a couple that we know of didn’t make the final cut, details are sketchy but what follows is some information with regards to those scenes:

1. “Window Rage!!! ” – Filmed but cut
This scene shows Ash outside the cabin directly after Shelly's dismembered body has been buried. Overcome with guilt and emotion he lashes out at a broken window and destroys the remaining glass (real glass!). Rightly removed because it slows the film down and is unnecessary.

2. “Drinking and Driving” – Filmed but cut
Inside the car on route to the cabin the gang crack out some ‘hillbilly moonshine’ and share it around. Look closely at the movie and you’ll see Ash look like he’s gasping (see pic below), this was his reaction to supping the back-wood sauce. Was removed because of pacing reasons

3. "Cellar Dweller!" - Filmed but cut (Alternate footage)
High view point shot of Cheryl dishing out abuse to Ash after Linda's possession.

3. “Burn baby Burn!” – Scripted not Filmed
In the original intended ending Ash burned the Book of the Dead using Linda’s magnifying glass necklace and the suns rays. This was dropped by the time they came to film the ending but the previous footage (Ash giving the gift etc) had already been filmed so they were stuck with it. NB: considering Ash is stuck in a perpetual night by the evil Force it seems impractical that morning should all of a sudden come and save the day!
